Dr. Stephan Beer

Career

From 1999 to 2004, Dr. Beer studied chemistry at the Technical University of Munich. From 2001 to 2002, he did exchange studies at the National University of Singapore which were financed by a LAOTSE scholarship and a Karl-Wamsler scholarship. His master thesis entitled, “Early transition-metal complexes with imidazolin-2-iminato ligands”, was recognized with the Edison Award of the GE-Foundation.

In February 2008, Dr. Beer finished his doctoral thesis entitled, “Development of novel catalysts for alkyne metathesis”, which was prepared at the Technical University of Munich and the Technical University of Braunschweig.

In 2009, Dr. Beer won the Heinrich-Büssing Award for his dissertation.

From 2008 to 2009, with a scholarship from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), Dr. Beer worked as a postdoctoral research fellow at the Scripps Research Institute in San Diego, CA, USA.

Dr. Beer qualified as a German Patent Attorney and as a European Patent Attorney in 2013, after he was trained at Müller-Boré, the German Patent and Trademark Office, and the German Federal Patent Court.

Dr. Beer has been with Müller-Boré since 2009. He became a partner in 2019.

Dr. Beer specializes in inorganic and organic chemistry, nanotechnology, polymer chemistry, dyes, electrochemistry, liquid crystals, and catalysis.
