Career
Francesco Saverio Russo began studying engineering at the Polytechnic University of Bari in 2008, earning a bachelor’s degree in industrial management engineering in 2012 and a master’s degree in mechanical engineering in 2016. His master’s thesis relates to the analysis of friction stir welding geometries tools for joining Aluminum alloys. During his master studies, he began working as a patent engineer at a patent law firm in Bari, Italy, and co-founded a start-up in the field of software for enabling the use of 3D CAD in virtual reality.
In 2017, Mr. Russo completed a master of laws (LLM) in intellectual property and competition law at the Munich Intellectual Property Law Center (MIPLC), with a thesis concerning the admissibility of undisclosed disclaimers under a uniform concept of disclosure of the European Patent Convention. After graduation, he attended a one-year internship in the Examining Division of the European Patent Office, where he dealt with the drafting of search reports, as well as the examination of European patent applications and oppositions in the field of machine tools and metal working (CPC B23). Since 2019, Mr. Russo has been registered as an Italian Patent Attorney (Consulente in Proprietà Industriale – Sezione Brevetti) and in 2020 he was admitted as a European Patent Attorney.
Mr. Russo has been with Müller-Boré since 2019.
