Career

Dr. Ahner studied chemistry at the Friedrich Schiller University in Jena from 2008 to 2013. He finished his studies with a diploma thesis entitled "Synthesis and characterization of diketopyrrolo-pyrrole oligomers as acceptors for low band gap polymers". 

For his doctorate, Dr. Ahner continued his research in the field of conjugated polymers at the Friedrich Schiller University in Jena in 2013 and completed it in 2018 with the dissertation "Tailor-made conjugated polymers: From dynamic interactions to functional self-healing materials". Dr. Ahner then worked as a postdoc at the Friedrich Schiller University in Jena from 2018 to 2020. 

After completing his training at Müller-Boré, the German Patent and Trademark Office, and the German Federal Patent Court, Dr. Ahner was admitted as a German patent attorney in 2023.
Dr. Ahner was also admitted as a European Patent Attorney in 2024. 

Dr. Ahner joined Müller-Boré in 2020.
