Dr. Robert Knall

Career

Dr. Knall studied biology at the Technical University of Munich from 1996 to 2002. His studies focused on biotechnology, genetics and immunology. During his scientific training he spent several weeks at the School of Biosciences of the University of Nottingham, working in the field of enteropathogenic microorganisms. He completed his degree in 2002 at the Institute for Medical Microbiology, Immunology and Hygiene of the Technical University of Munich with a diploma thesis entitled “Isolation of epitope-specific T cell populations”.

Dr. Knall received his doctorate in 2007 at the Institute for Medical Microbiology, Immunology and Hygiene at the Technical University of Munich with a thesis entitled “Direct ex vivo identification of individual antigen-specific T cells with optimal avidity for protection”. As a doctoral candidate, Dr. Knall acquired extensive proficiency in the field of cell-mediated immunity, as well as in established molecular and cell biology techniques, particularly in the field of single cell analysis.
